Stranger

by Thom as Fred

/

about

With all the animosity we've all suffered through in 2020 - both "right" and "left" - or maybe let's say fellow humans, it occurred to my subconscious mind that we've all been strangers at some point in our lives and everyone has strange moments. It's oddly unifying. We're strangers but no stranger than any one else.

lyrics

Walking the talk
As you think others have
Looking around you
But feeling in half
Make the motions
With meaning or not
Those that have
And those who are caught

You’re a stranger
But no stranger
Than anyone else

Alienated
With a crowd in a room
Standing alone
Feeling doomed
Connections come easy
To those who hang in
If you can stay there
It’s surely a win

You’re a stranger
But no stranger
Than anyone else
You’re a stranger
But no stranger
Than anybody else

Lying in wait for a
Friend or a mate
Looking around
With your eyes facing down
Happier times
Will surely arrive
Hope looms large
As the trail branches

Doubting yourself
While you act out of turn
You never know
Just what you will earn
Looking back now
It all seems so clear
That what you disdained
You now hold so dear

You’re a stranger
But no stranger
Than anyone else
You’re a stranger
But no stranger
Than anybody else

You’re a stranger
But no stranger
Than anyone else
You’re a stranger
But no stranger
Than anybody else
